I made this album with the attempt to completely re-contextualize the genre of witch house. Upon hearing "classic" witch house tracks from back in the day I realized that most of them were incredibly dull and uninteresting trap beats with ominous found sounds over them with poor mixing. I saw this as an opportunity to completely rehash the entire genre format with genuine cultural elements drawing upon Caribbean rhythms to evoke that Voodoo / Haitian vibe along with my classical European Halloween-like melodies to mimic the witches of the north. This created a seamless combination that made sense to me musically. Not to mention, actually making house music to some extent, of which I couldn't find one witch house track that was actually house music. To me that is just stupid. Why name your genre "witch house" when it's just a bunch of shitty trap beats?
